My Take on ELI’S Emerging Learning Technologies

As stated in several posts, 7 Things you should know about is a report published that provides information on new and emerging learning technologies.

I personal enjoyed searching this site and learning more specifically about each technology listed. This site is a wonderful tool for those looking for new forms of technology and who are interested in learning quickly about each listed technology, which includes focusing on:

• What the topic is
• How it works
• where it is going
• Why it is important
• How it can enhance development in activity
• Open ended dialogue
• Positive and negative aspects

I believe that 7 Things you should know about is very useful and valuable to the broader community of both educators and learning technologies specialists because it offers a variety of emerging learning technologies along with useful information about each specific technology. As listed above, each technology is described with a variety of focuses and includes general information that could help one better decide if they agree or disagree with the technology listed. Of course, one may want to look further into the technology they are favouring or questioning, as this is designed to give broad information, not necessarily specific.

I like the layout of this report and do not necessarily wish to see any major changes or newer versions. Personally, I think this is a wonderful way to touch on new emerging technologies and get a brief understanding. If I am interested in any listed, I can further my search and continue my learning on the technology of my choice, by using other search engines. If anything, this site could include (at the bottom of each technology) several sites they recommend visiting if one wishes to deepen their knowledge. I would definitely recommend this report to others in this regard!!
